New York Fashion Week SS 2012...Jourdan

Love this outfit on Jourdan. Suede shorts, oxfords, an oversized sheer blouse.... Teamed with her messy braid (do you see the tiny threads of leather intertwined in her plait?) it has a faintly urban safari-ish feel.

Recreate Jourdan's Look (kind of):

Slip on a pair of suede shorty shorts: Surface to Air suede shorts, Pepe jeans suede shorts, Donna Karan casual pleated shorts (these aren't suede but have the same feel as Jourdan's shorts), Maison Martin Margiela suede shorts or findersKeepers faux suede shorts

Add a floaty, sheer blouse (great for days when the heat feels unbearably stifling*): Haute Hippie peasant blouse, Winter Kate Pushpa blouse (add a pretty bra or cami underneath), Thomas Wylde Devil's Daughter blouse, Jeunesse Francoise blouse

ASOS Marksy leather brogues, Rag & Bone Hanalei oxfords or Esquivel The Wing Tip brogue

* we haven't had one of these days yet in the UK...although tomorrow promises to reach 23°C. Woot!

Andie Arthur, after Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, NYC, February 2012.

I am a big fan of the tuxedo stripe pant (see my post on the lovely Natalie Hartley here) and these Rag & Bone jeans are a brilliant, versatile interpretation of the trend. Dress them down with flats (a brogue perhaps?) and a blazer for day and for night, wear a leg-lengthening pair of heels.

Recreate Andie's Look (kind of):

Rag & Bone/Jean The Tuxedo skinny jeans (slim stripe), black and blush (wider stripe) or charcoal grey and neon (slim stripe)

Rag & Bone Classic Newbury booties

p.s. Love the way Andie is joyfully swinging around that Celine bag! I probably would be doing that as well if I owned one ;)
